Project Director, Foreign Policy Centre (United Kingdom)
Susan Coughtrie is Deputy Director at the Foreign Policy Centre (FPC), leading the Unsafe for Scrutiny project, which examines risks and threats to journalists investigating financial crime and corruption. She is the co-founder and co-chair of the UK anti-SLAPP Coalition, established in January 2021, and lead author of the report “‘London Calling’: The issue of legal intimidation and SLAPPs against media emanating from the United Kingdom,” jointly published by FPC and ARTICLE 19 in April 2022. A long term advisor to the European Centre for Press and Media Freedom (ECPMF) and a committee member for the Campaign for Freedom of Information in Scotland (CFoIS), Susan also previously worked at the international free expression organisation ARTICLE 19 from 2012-2018.
